QuickBooks has a feature showing you the most recent company files you've opened.  Unfortunately, once you've move a company file to a new location and open it, you'll now see the same company listed twice in the Open Company dialog box.

1. Open any company file. 

2. Select File - Open Previous Company

3. Change “Set Number of Previous Companies” to 1.

4. Exit QuickBooks and restart.

5. Open a current company file.

6. Select File - Open Previous Company

7. Change “Set Number of Previous Companies” to the number of company files you want displayed.

8. Exit QuickBooks and restart.

9. Open each company file you want displayed.
