If setting Internet Explorer as the default browser does not resolve the issue, the problem may be with an invalid registry setting.

  1. Select Start – Run and type regedit <enter>.
  2. Navigate to this Value:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClientsStartMenuInternetIEXPLORE.EXEDefaultIcon
  3. Change the value to “C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe,-32528”
    Note: The value typically “C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe,-7” if this is the issue.
  4. Reboot.
