When using Windows 7 Professional for file sharing or as a Small Business server, memory / resource errors such as “Nonpaged Pool Srv Error 2017”, “The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the server reached the configured limit for nonpaged pool allocations” or associated errors my be returned. To resolve, edit the following registry values:

  1. Run regedit.msc.
  2. Set the following registry key value to “1”: HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory ManagementLargeSystemCache
  3. Set the following registry key value to “3”: HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanServerParametersSize
  4. Restart computer.
